Held at the InnovOcean Campus in Oostende, Belgium, from January 23 to 25, 2024, this hands-on FAIR Data training course, funded by EMBRC, will equip you with the knowledge and skills to make your data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR).

Three Days of Deep Dive into FAIR Data Principles

This three-day blended FAIR Data training, priced at €300 (including breaks, lunches, and one dinner), is designed for on-site participants, offering an in-depth exploration of FAIR data principles. Online-only students can join for the first two days (€150). Upon completion, you'll receive a certificate and a wealth of practical resources to enhance your data management practices.

Days one and two will blend lectures, exercises, interactive sessions, and discussions, guiding both on-site and remote participants through the intricacies of FAIR data management:

  1. Practical Strategies for Making Data Findable: Discover effective techniques to ensure your data is easily discoverable on the web, utilizing relevant search tools and metadata strategies.
  2. Accessing Data with Seamless Ease: Explore diverse methods for making your data accessible, encompassing various storage options, data formats, and sharing protocols.
  3. Interoperability: Bridging the Data Language Gap: Delve into the principles of interoperability, ensuring that your data and metadata are understandable and compatible across different systems and platforms.
  4. Provenance: The Key to Reusability: Comprehend the role of provenance in enhancing data reusability, enabling others to trace the origins and transformations of your data.

Exclusive Data FAIRness Clinic for On-Site Participants

Exclusive to on-site participants on the third day of this FAIR Data training, the Data FAIRness Clinic at the VLIZ Data Centre will provide a personalised hands-on experience, guiding you through the process of making your data FAIR and publishable.
